Learn More About Artful Mindful Playful Counselling,

Aka Debi Watson

Hi, I’m Debi!

I have always been drawn to the moments when people find their way back to themselves.

Long before I became a counsellor, I was the person in the room who listened a little more carefully and a little more patiently, until I could hear what someone truly needed and gently reflect it back. That's still exactly what I do.

Artful Mindful Playful is dedicated to the belief that having a creative, aware, lighthearted approach to life makes recovery from trauma—and other adverse circumstances—more possible.

Find A Safe Harbour For Your Feelings

Think of my practice as a harbour. A place to come in out of the storm, catch your breath, and get your bearings.

But it's not a place to dock your boat permanently.

The work we do together is about helping you build the confidence and inner resources to navigate on your own terms. I'll hold you gently while you're here, and I'll keep encouraging you to trust yourself a little more each time you leave.

One day, I hope you’ll set sail full of confidence and trust in yourself. But I’m always here if you need me.

A Little More About Me

I have 18 bookcases full of books, and I am completely at peace with that. I love Edmonton's cultural festivals, its incredible food scene, and especially the Fringe. I also adore spending time with my grandkids.

You might notice a few dandelions while you’re exploring my website, and you might be wondering why so many!

I have a soft spot for dandelions. They are resilient, bright, wildly misjudged, and somehow manage to grow and thrive in the most unexpected places. Plus, they grow and transform right before your eyes. I think people are a lot like that, too. I hope you’ll take a moment to appreciate them with me!
